The workshops, events, and meetings below are a summary of the accomplishments of the Coastal Zone Management Grant CZ710. The project manager and coordinator are employees of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection located at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Naples, FL. The purpose of these events was to gather community input, and to raise awareness about the Gulf of Mexico Alliance and coastal issues that affect the citizens of southwest Florida. This project is a continuation of the original Gulf of Mexico Alliance community workshop held around the Gulf in early 2006, however focusing specifically on southwest Florida.
